What about Weddings in Manitoba?

Are you planning a wedding for the upcoming 2021 and 2022 seasons in Manitoba, Canada? Does the thought of not knowing how many guests you’ll be allowed to have stress you out? Are you thinking about postponing (again)? Would a guideline on how to safely host your event be helpful to you – as you navigate your wedding planning journey with your partner, vendors, and invited guests? If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions, know that you are not alone.

As a planner who had 95% of 2020 weddings postpone to 2021, it has been a rollercoaster of a year to say the least. It has been quite a challenge to help guide couples during this global pandemic, simply because the rules are inconsistent across the board, they are constantly changing, and up for interpretation.

Never in my career have I been this humbled, motivated, and challenged to make a change. I just want to be able to do my job properly, without giving couples false hope.

While I understand that weddings are not the top priority for the province, I do believe that it is possible to host safe events in Manitoba. I am confident in the knowledge, experience, and professionalism that my colleagues bring to the table. This once-in-a-lifetime event affects many people including couples like you, vendors that make up the Wedding Industry, and the family and friends that you hope to celebrate with. It takes months and sometimes years to plan a wedding – and all of those plans go out the window whenever a Public Health Order is released.

The 2021 and 2022 wedding season is fast approaching, and we (vendors and couples) simply cannot (financially, mentally, physically, and emotionally) afford going into it without a PLAN. It was important for me to create a survey that gathered feedback directly from couples experiencing the challenges of wedding planning in Manitoba, and thanks to the 537 couples that responded, we were able to create an infographic as a result of the data collected.

Special thanks also goes out to the following vendors who shared the survey, and helped us reach more couples : AJ Batac Photography, Parasayo, Hawthorne Estates, Spark Rentals, Ashley Brooke Weddings, Harlow Events, Moore Photography, A Perfect Ceremony I Do, Beyond Flowers, First Chapter Weddings Manitoba, and The Wonderful Wedding Show. And to YOU, for taking part in the survey!

Now more than ever, we need to work together to create an impact – so that decision makers will invite and include us in their discussions. My hope is that together with the Manitoba Wedding Industry, our Provincial Government can come up with a PLAN to safely host events for the 2021 and 2022 wedding seasons.

How can YOU help us get there?

Just follow these 3 steps below:
Check out the infographic, and look at what 537 couples have to say!

1. Click here to download the sections of the infographic you’d like to use / share.

2. SHARE the post on social media! Tag your MLAs, government officials, and us @annand.co so we can repost! And ask your family + friends to do the same! Use the hashtag #WhatAboutWeddingsInMB
(Remember to be kind when posting. We want the government to work with us, not against us.)

3. Go the EXTRA mile, send an email your MLA and ask them to check out this link!

Wedding planning is supposed to be fun, and I want nothing more than for couples like you to enjoy the journey leading up to your big day. If you have any questions or just want to chat, click here to send me a message.

WIthout further adieu, here is that infographic I promised you!

This is very great information but, i think weddings shouldn’t have a number of who can or cannot attend. I will be getting married august 28th of this year (Hawthorn Estate’s), my finger’s are crossed for atleast 50 people inside.
It’s beyond silly strangers can go to Walmart, Costco without a limit but, something so wonderful like a wedding we can’t be around family.
